THREAD: 1. Some thoughts on changing #ResearchCulture (TL:DR it takes time and we're not there yet @UofGlasgow but start by asking what matters to your staff & students and what they're already proud of).
2. Last September, we ran an event @UofGlasgow to Reimagine #ResearchCulture, bringing together colleagues, funders & publishers to identify concrete actions to progress our culture https://tinyurl.com/y2ypkwvp
A lot has happened since then.
3. We introduced specific collegiality criteria into professorial promotions, so colleagues evidence how they support others to succeed.
And gave the same weighting to outputs and impact. With the promotions round just ended, we are now evaluating how that worked. More soon.
4. Promotions also required evidence of commitment to open research – share early, share often, share widely! Openness drives rigour, visibility, and collaboration – applies to publications, software data methods…
5. We signed up to the Concordat for the Career Development of researchers. @Vitae_news

Our action plan sets out key priorities to improve the research environment and careers support for ECRs and for ECRs and PIs to be partners in this process: https://tinyurl.com/y68o3kqh
6. We launched a 5-year Research Culture action plan and Statement; organised roadshows & events and established our Research Culture and Careers Group, to ensure progress and communication across the university: https://www.gla.ac.uk/researchculture/
7. Our 2020 #ResearchCulture awards recognised contributions from all career stages and staff groups, particularly during the pandemic and in supporting careers 🏆 https://www.gla.ac.uk/myglasgow/ris/researchculture/researchcultureawards/
