how to respect artists ; a MUCH needed thread
> do not speak on our behalf. you might not understand what and why we are upset about something, hence, you shouldn't speak over us.
> please refrain from commenting unnecessary comments on art eg: 'what' 'wtf' 'what is that' 'that's weird' 'lol(unless it's something funny :])', the artists may or may not overthink too much about it and might get anxious aha,,, including me,
> please respect our boundaries. when the artist has 'don't rt' or 'don't qrt' or 'don't repost', etc. please. this is the least you could do to appreciate and respect us. it isn't that hard.
> please ask us for permission if you'd like to repost(with credit.) our art ! it's better to get a heads up and very much appreciated :)
> please credit art. :( even if you found it somewhere, you can always reverse search(is that right?) and find the original artist. even if you didn't say it was yours, crediting is also almost the least u can do to promote the art asw. (if the artist is ok with no credit, +
crediting is still very much appreciated , so please consider doing so :} )
> please don't pressure us into drawing this or that, we already most likely have our own things to do and problems to fix, please don't say things like 'why don't you draw ___?' 'can't you finish it faster?' instead, be patient and support us in any way u can ! +
saying things like 'take your time' 'it's okay! please take care first.' or compliments would suffice. these are very reassuring and it makes a lot of us very happy to know we can take our time to finish things.
> please please don't ask for free art (out of nowhere,,) , art takes time, effort, and skill. artists try to learn and improve everyday, for years, even. this is very disrespectful and spending so much time and skill just for it to be free for all is kind of.. :(
> please ask for permission to criticize someone's artwork ! the artist may be uncomfortable with criticism and might get anxious about it. asking for permission about doing anything with their art is very appreciated :]
