Working out when Arsenal will drop into the relegation zone. A thread.

Their main competition down the bottom right now is Brighton, Fulham and Burnley. Sheffield United are too far off and West Brom don’t look likely to compete so we’ll focus on the 16-18th placed teams

Burnley gaining 1 point this week is key in closing the gap whilst Arsenal and Fulham dropped points. I’d fancy Brighton to grab a draw tonight.

Gameweek 12 is huge down the bottom. Fulham/Brighton will struggle to get points against top 4 teams, but we have a real 6 pointer as the clarets travel to the Emirates. No team is better to handle Arsenal’s crosses than Dyche’s 0-0 draw.

Gameweek 13 is where I see the Seagulls leapfrogging Arsenal with a win at Fulham. Southampton will be too much for the Gooners. Burnley to snatch a point against an out of form Villa.

Gameweek 14 is the real game changer. James and DCL will have a field day. If Jiminez is still out for Wolves I’d fancy all 3 to win. Bleak Christmas for Arsenal fans.

Doesn’t get any easier for Arsenal against a rampant Chelsea side. Other 3 are all too tough to call and could go either way. Out of fairness, we’ll call them all as draws.

Brighton to continue their great record against Arsenal? Definitely. Maupay to the rescue. 3 points for Burnley means Arsenal will be relying on a Spurs win to keep them out the drop zone, which they should get.

They’ve made it into 2021 safe from the drop, but will it last? Yes, this week at least. West Brom have competed well with the big 6 at home and should take a point off them. Fulham to win the big game. Loss for Brighton to end their run.

Not a Hodgson team! If Arteta survives this long he’ll be scratching his extremely gelled hair wondering how to get past them.

Thankfully their competition down the bottom will also all lose this week. They might view it as a missed opportunity though. No change in table.

Anything can happen in a derby, Fulham 3-3 Chelsea surely? Brighton will also have an exciting draw, Burnley a less exciting draw. No chance Callum Wilson doesn’t score a hat-trick.

Is there a way to stop this happening for Arsenal? Not sure. I guess they just have to hope the second half of the season is better.

They need some big changes in charge, up front, on the board, everywhere really. But who? Zidane? Piers Morgan? Gunnersaurus? Time will tell.
