A few thoughts as Brexit talks teeter around cliff edge.
Even with a deal, UK in midst of Covid crisis, will be putting substantial barriers up to trade w its biggest trade partner, the EU, at borders & elsewhere, incl within UK to N Ireland (& bizarrely in Kent for lorry access)
This hard Brexit (whether deal or no deal) will have substantial damaging economic impacts, immediately & in years ahead. Huge damage has been done to EU-UK relations & to UK reputation, image, influence - Brexit seen in EU as act of folly, UK unstable, irrational, untrustworthy
For Scotland, independence is now a choice between two unions. EU-UK border problems will pose tough questions on future Scotland-England border but it wd mean open border w EU & taking political control away from Westminster/England that chose this degree of Brexit self-harm
