Children under 13 are not allowed to join AO3, let alone post content. You should NOT be on the site, period bc it is NOT meant for you.
Ratings are given a clear explanation.
You can avoid certain content by USING RATINGS, TAGS, WARNINGS. (Also the âExcludeâ filter)

AO3 put 6 steps in place:
*Age under 13 canât join
*Ratings
*Warnings
*Tags
*Asked to agree to see Mature, Explicit or Unrated works, every time (disable this feature at your own risk)
*Exclude filter available
Itâs on YOU if you ignored all these stages of protection.

You AGREE to AO3âs ToS when signing up.
STOP bashing creators just bc you canât be bothered to use the 6 layers of protection provided by AO3, to only see content youâre comfortable with.
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for your own choice to ignore/not use those 6 protections!

In addition, AO3 does not allow âcontent that contains or links to child pornography.â
AO3 defines CP as âimages of real childrenâ. NOT fictional characters.
Legally, in order for it to be CP, CSA/ pedophilia, there must be a REAL LIFE CHILD involved.

*Canât tell the difference between reality/fiction.
*Donât understand the LEGAL definitions of the labels youâre using to demonise people who arenât breaking either AO3 ToS or the law, with their fictional works.
[8+]
Please also note that AO3 policy is they will not remove works unless the works violate one of their other policies.
Stop demanding they take works down just bc you donât want to use the 6 protections they already provided you with to filter out content you donât want

And finally:
If youâre not happy with AO3âs content/their policy on content, may I suggest exercising some (un)common sense; LEAVE AO3. DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT.
YOU agreed to the terms when YOU signed up.
If you donât like it, LEAVE. Donât expect an ENTIRE SITE to change FOR YOU.
