opened up, everyone felt that now we will become a Super Power with access to the best there is out there!
I went to the US, lived there for over a decade, and moved back 2 years ago!
A LOT has changed! Most of it for the good. Our digital payments are definitely world class!

MINDSET!
We are still besieged by the “chalta hai” attitude!

Thankfully no positive cases yet!
We are continuing with the SAME protocol for the foreseeable future.
We have paid GOOD money for everything without increasing our fees.
So it saddens me to see the cavalier attitude of the vendors and manufacturers of something as basic

as the PPE Kit!
We started with one vendor, they were good. We ordered a bunch. Then a couple of months later, we got very poor quality kits. They almost appeared to have been opened and resealed. He assured us they were not but I could not trust him any more.

So we moved on to another one. Someone we have purchased some big ticket items from in the last year or so.
Initially the kits were good. Then he tells me “90 GSM kits are not available.“
That’s the bare minimum to protect ourselves from COVID.
“Ok how do I get them?”

“You have to order in bulk. I will give you a break in price.”
Spoke to my father who takes these decisions. “Ok go ahead but ensure they are good!”
Relayed that message to the vendor!

cover barely fits me. I wear shoe size 8. That’s NOT large feet!
The only way to get them on is stretch them! I am surprised they don’t tear!

For someone whom I was very impressed with for his sweet talking skills, he sure put his foot in his mouth.

50 KITS!
It’s clearly sub standard goods sent by the manufacturer. So technically it’s not his fault.
BUT but but: it’s 50 kits.
He could have opened ONE to ensure proper quality control!
But he did not want to lose the money on that!

Unfortunately it has cost him the money for 50 kits!
I called another vendor and he said “Without opening the kit I cannot tell you what’s the GSM (grams per square meter). Any way, the government has changed all the rules so even 45 is allowed to be sold”.

I call a 3rd vendor. Same issue.
Clearly the market for PPE kits is gone. The manufacturers have moved on.
But the VIRUS has not!
I will not compromise!
But it’s a tough job to find quality products even if we are ready to pay their price!
That’s what’s holding us back!
