#TwitterOfTime - please read this thread 1/16
Hey everyone, most of you know of me, quite a lot of you know me, and we have talked over the two years that #TwitterOfTime has been around, and I really want/need you all to read this, because recent events have really concerned me 2/16
Let’s face it. 2020 has been a shit year for all of us. We have seen people we love leave us, without a chance to say goodbye in a number of ways. The world has gone insane, and we have been cooped up inside for months on end, not knowing if there is an end in sight. 3/16
But there have been some plus points. As a guy from England, I was happy to see Biden get elected, and I think that America, where I know many of you are from, will become a safer place for it. It may not be perfect, but it will do. 4/16
Another plus point for me, as you can imagine, has been this community. No, scrap community. This family. That is what we are. That is what I have always referred to you as, on here, and even at home with my real family. 5/16
I went through some of the darkest periods of my life earlier this year, and if it wasn’t for all of you reaching out, and reminding me that I was not as alone as I felt, chances are I wouldn’t have been here writing this today. 6/16
Now, families fight. They bicker and squabble, but ultimately, they either make up, or they agree to disagree and let it slide. We are a community of a thousand different voices and opinions. Not all of these will be opinions that you share or agree with. 7/16
Today, I’m writing this, because I am worried of this community fracturing, and I do not want to see this happen.

I will not see this happen. 8/16
We, as a community, are so lucky that Robert Jordan created a legacy that has given us a cast and crew that are FANS of his work. Can you imagine if Weiss and Benioff had been for Game of Thrones, like Rafe is? Imagine what a different show it would have been... 9/16
We, as a community, are so lucky to have people like @rafejudkins and @sarahenakamura who do not have to give us any information about the show whatsoever, but choose to, because they know what being a fan is all about. 10/16
We, as a community, have become ungrateful, perhaps, expecting information, demanding it even, when we forget that we are not entitled to it. We do not need to be privy to what is going on behind the scenes. Yet they share that with us. 11/16
I worry, as a fan, that if we seem ungrateful about what they give us, then Rafe, Sarah and @WoTonPrime will withdraw from us completely, and we will be the lesser for it. 12/16
I worry, as a participant in #TwitterOfTime, that silly arguments will destroy us, and we will become another toxic part of the internet, and not, as we have been described “one of the most welcoming fandoms on the internet.”

I do not want to see this happen. 13/16
Please, if there are opinions and discussions that do not align with your views and beliefs, mute the person, or sit back and ignore it. It’s Twitter, we can do that! We can be better than the communities that enjoy pouring gasoline onto a fire and lighting a match. 14/16
If you managed to read this all, thank you. If you have any suggestions as to how I, or we, as a community can make things better, message me and I’ll happily discuss things privately if needs be. 15/16
You are family, you are friends. Let’s bury the bullshit and make 2021 a year to remember.

Yours,
TylinsToy aka Adam 16/16
