A thread on #COVID19 symptoms and treatment.
I rarely do online consultation or give any medical advice on social media but I have seen so many myths and false beliefs about Covid-19 treatment that I had to do this...
By now we all know the symptoms it's cough, fever, flu, bones aches, no smell, no taste, headaches.
Sometimes Covid-19 patients have absolutely no symptom at all.
If you have any symptoms isolate yourself and get your tests done.
Treat any flu fever as covid till you get results
For testing. Chugtais, Shaukat khanum are doing it. As well as all tertiary care government hospitals which are free of cost. Also there's free testing at expo centre.
They take a throat or a nasal swab which is pretty easy no need for blood samples.
You get the report in a day.
If you test positive for covid isolation is most important and ask your contacts, people you met during last few days, family members to get tested too.
Kids have demonstrated that they fight the infection pretty well. If you have adults you need to be very cautious about them
Now the treatment:
Tab Azomax 500mg, Two times a day for five days.
2 Tab Panadol every six hours if you have fever.
Tab Antial 10mg two times a day,
Cap fexet D two times a day,
Steam inhalation with vicks,
Syrup hyraline 2TSP three times a day in case of boughts of cough...
Tab Cac 1000, once a day.
You can also take Cap Sunny D once a week if you're low on vit D.
Mutivitamins for old patients as they already have low immunity.
These all medications are for the time when you have slight symptoms as mentioned above.
Now what to eat.
It's preferred to give soup to the patients as it has veggies, chicken all added and it's warm which soothes the throat.
Warm fluid, tea, coffee, kahwa as they soothe the throat.
Fresh juices and milk shakes to increase immunity.
Eggs, lean meat like fish...
Or mutton yakhni is also beneficial.
Roti and Rice can also be taken. Though Rice is more preferred as its easier to digest.
Avoid fats and excessive oil fried items.
Now the tricky part is when symptoms get worse.
Its necessary to monitor your blood oxygen level which can be done by pulse oxymeter.
If you have difficulty in breathing or your oxygen drops below 90 you need to go to hospital ASAP for oxygen therapy..
I won't explain oxygen therapy here as it's something that should be ideally done in hospital so that a patient can be shifted on ventilator if in case sats drop drastically.

I have tried to keep it as simple as possible. Am always here to answer queries. It's important to...
Practice social distancing,

Wash hands,

Wear masks,

Sanitize your phone, desk chair,

Minimize social gathering,

Prefer home cooked meals rather than takeout,

Avoid going out unnecessarily,

Build your immunity with increasing nourishment and adequate physical activity.
