So, I was googling "Catra Star Wars" for obvious reasons, and saw this image and...just...it broke me...in my brain...

Like...

THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFEREN CHARACTERS. in fact, they're SO radically different that COMPARING THEM MAKES...ALMOST...NO SENSE.

Adora is cheerful and bubbly. Rey is focused and serious. Adora grew up as the prize focus of the Fright Zone (and yes, she was abused by Shadow Weaver, but it was the insidious fucked up abuse of the "good one" in an abusive family.) She was TRAINED BY AN ARMY.

Rey grew up literally ALONE, trained herself because the alternative was to die. Rey's also, like, really good with machines because she takes them apart for a living (again, if she didn't take them apart and know how to fix them, then she'd DIE.)

Adora was literally BORN for the sword she uses - it is her destiny. The sword is also a chain around her neck that she must shatter to truly be free. Rey was born no one and the lightsaber she finds is a promise for a better tomorrow - and while she eventually discards it...

...it's not actually *connected* to her beyond being a symbol of what she hopes to do. Rey's love interest/enemy is a masked, mysterious stranger. Adora's love interest/enemy is LITERALLY HER BEST FRIEND SHE HAS KNOWN FOR HER ENTIRE GODDAMN LIFE.
