good to recall *some* #EU-level initiatives urging more support for #Taiwan, most coming from MEPs either as individual initiatives or as calls integrated into @Europarl_EN resolutions, also from other EU institutions. see some, not all, in my🧵below:
April letter signed by 22 MEPs led by EU-China Deleg Chair @bueti to @JosepBorrellF calling on #EU to engage w/int’l partners for a protocol that would allow #Taiwan to be fully involved in @WHO work against pandemic & against other int’l crisis https://reinhardbuetikofer.eu/2020/04/21/covid-19-who-cooperation-with-taiwan-letter-to-vice-president-borrell/
In latest @Europarl_EN annual report on the implementation of Common Foreign & Security Policy MEPs reiterate support “for Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organisations, mechanisms and activities”, text adopted on 15 Jan 2020: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/TA-9-2020-0008_EN.html
In her tweet this April President of @EU_Commission @vonderleyen thanked #Taiwan for its gesture of solidarity, stressing we are #StrongerTogether 👏🏼🇪🇺🇹🇼
