Just found out my kid's Soc Studies teacher is teaching the "story of Xmas" & I need to get more info but so far, wtf, she said she's not forcing her beliefs on anyone but so far she's just teaching about Moses & the Israelites? For a few weeks already!
Not cool, at all, if you want to cover religion in Soc Studies, fine, don't use it as a cover to push your religion. Cover it all, historically, fairly & factually. Not the first time she's made biblical references either, slips stuff in all the time.
Now the decision agnostics/atheists & other religions deal with, raise the issue & put a target on your kid's back(no such thing as anonymous in a small town) or roll with it, because most people are fine with it & will label your family "troublemakers"
I'm posting this one because it's particularly egregious. But it happens all the time. All the time. The assumption that everyone is Christian is an ongoing problem, in small & huge ways. Picking your battles is a big deal, those who know, know.
