I told @SciBugs that I'd come back to Ecuador if we could find a Trogon, Quetzal, and Potoo. We found two out of three which was pretty amazing. Here a male Masked Trogon watches for passing insects.
Another view of this handsome guy because wow, look at the vegetation on the branch he is sitting on.
The female Masked Trogon is a warm brown in color.
She's also got eyelashes for miles.
These birds eat fruit and insects and all of the insects are caught in flight. The male nabbed a moth.
Chomp, chomp...
One more photo of the male Trogon doing the round bird thing. Again, look at all the vegetation. In the cloud forest plants grow on plants and probably on plants again. It's amazing.
