During Ryan Fitzpatrick's time at QB in 2020, Miami called the 8th most No Huddle plays in the NFL.

During Tua's time at QB, Miami called the 7th LEAST No Huddle plays in NFL.

That changed today. Miami went up-tempo w/ Tua in the 2nd half.

For the record, the time periods in question for Ryan Fitzpatrick are: Weeks 1 thru 6, 4Q of Week 11, and Week 12. Miami ran 53 No Huddle plays.

The time periods in question for Tua Tagovailoa are: Weeks 8 thru 10, and Q1-3 of Week 11. Miami ran a total of FIVE No Huddle plays.
Today the Dolphins ran No Huddle a total of 15 times against the Bengals, although it's worth noting one was a QB spike and another was blown dead by a false start.

This is an example of a discrete difference in Chan Gailey's play calling for Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Tua Tagovailoa.
Was Gailey correct in his thinking that the rookie Tagovailoa could not have handled an up-tempo approach in Weeks 8, 9, 10, or 11?

I don't know. I can't do the hypotheticals.

What I know is he finally let Tua do it in Week 13 and it worked out really well.
