I finally got to watch the First Episode of the FINAL SEASON of AOT. I’ll be highlighting my favorite key points production wise and I’ll be going over the “controversy” as well. Please read this is if you’re curious about my honest thoughts.

Pros: MAPPA did an amazing job capturing the atmosphere of war and I dig the compositing of the show. It wasn’t bad as I thought it would be so yay. The animation with the characters where limited but there’s a reason why

Pros: The Special Effects animation such as the explosions were top tier. They were the stars of this epsiode. You can tell they but all of their time in animating the explosions to look amazing! My favorite parts of the episode where the animations for the explosions

Pros: the god damn Character designs. I was worried about the character designs at first but that’s gone. Niimura did an outstanding job keeping the characters looking clean. I loved how they tried to match Wit and the manga. I really loved how MAPPA kept the detailed eye shots.
Last Pros:
THE BRUTALITY! You can tell that this season will have GORE! It really brought me back to seasons 1-2 if you know why The direction was also strong. The VAs, sound, and music thought were well put together. If this is the first episode wait till Hayashi directs one.

Cons/Pro:
Not really a con because I liked the CG but in my option it’s going to take time FOR ME to get use to. Although noticeable,the CG did not take me out of the experience of AOT since the movements were smooth especially with the Jaw and Armored Titan.I enjoyed the CG(1/2)

Cons (cont):
All though Pieck, Galliard, and Reiner looked great the only okay CG model was Zeke’s. I still need to get used to the CG models due to the Titans always being 2D, but it wasn’t a bad thing. IT’S GOOD CG PERIOD!

Overall I thought the Episode was enjoyable and GREAT. Even my anime only friend enjoyed it and wasn’t taken out by the CG. SHE SAID IT WAS GOOD! It was so good that I’ve seen it twice now. I can’t wait to see how MAPPA goes with the continuation. Overall I give it a 8.5/10:)
