1/9 Please don't skip this short #thread if you care about misinformation in #CDNmedia, #CDNecon & #CDNpoli, because correcting these #antitrust issues is paramount to winning the infowar against a #FakeNews machine & forces that thwart democracy

Topic is Google + Globe & Mail
2/9 #FakeNews doesn't just constitute completely fabricated disinformation. It also occurs when #CDNmedia suppresses important facts to either lessen, increase, or skew the impact of an article through a murkier process of misinformation that is rampant in #CDNpoli
3/9 For example, today's Globe & Mail article about #Google has an uninspiring title & it's behind a paywall if anyone clicked

(Here's an archive copy for those without subscription because G&M's paywall is purposely inferior so Google can still crawl it) https://archive.is/q2yCt
4/9 The Globe & Mail article about #Google covers a dispute with IAC, a company the public doesn't know or think it cares about

It mentions Chrome extensions that aren't behaving as promised, but fails to name them, IAC execs, or explain the misbehaviour

#CDNmedia #CDNpoli
5/9 That Globe & Mail article was thoroughly scrubbed to hide the #antitrust allegations against #Google & how the public is directly affected by them

Here's the original WSJ article that #CDNmedia vandalized & reframed to keep #CDNpoli in the dark https://archive.is/F0J8C
6/9 Original WSJ article bothered to explain details & name names

IAC runs Chrome browser extensions that do everything from provide daily bible verses to power tools, investment advice & access to ►official govt forms◄

But it also hijacks & deceives users

#CDNmedia #CDNpoli
7/9 Moreover, IAC paid #Google to hijack Chrome searches such as "how to vote", "vote by mail", "voter fraud" & redirect results to pages that blocked voters from accessing info on the elxn, during the elxn

But Globe&Mail scrubbed that part so #CDNpoli would never know #CDNmedia
8/9 This speaks to the major #antitrust issues at #Google & why it MUST be broken up if democracies are to preserve free & fair elections, especially because Google is afraid to take action against IAC due to its own conflicts of interest (read WSJ article)

#CDNmedia #CDNpoli
9/9 Finally, the reason Globe & Mail may behave so egregiously is due to its own #antitrust & conflict of interest issues (really, read both articles & compare)

#CDNmedia is the least of its assets & competes with its financial terminals that bow to #Google
