Incredibly impressive win by the #Giants any way you slice it. On the road, v Seattle, w/ Colt McCoy at QB.
Some quick takeaways that stood out to me (thread).
1. This defense is for real. As a collective they play cohesively, always rallying, creating multiple INT opps per game.
2. DC Patrick Graham has done an excellent job teaching his system while dealing with offseason zoom meetings. The #Giants are starting multiple rookies, several Day 3 picks, and yet you almost never see communication breakdowns. They play incredibly smart w/in the system.
3. While I still hate process of trading a top-68 pick for impending FA in a lost szn, Leonard Williams is outplaying the "process" here. I refuse to have #takelock and 99 has been the second-best IDL behind Aaron Donald. He took over and was key to #Giants upset W, yet again.
4. Tip of the cap to Jason Garrett. On the deciding TD pass to Alfred Morris he leveraged play action on the most seemingly obvious run down and the RB was wide open for an easy TD. The difference in this game = #Giants not settling for FGs in the red zone.
5. When the defense knows you're running it, and when your offense is in the red zone, it should be near impossible to get 7 by running. After Gallman's big gain, the #Giants still needed about 20 yards. Two run calls got them a TD. This game was decided at the point of attack.
6. Speaking of the point of attack, the #Giants offensive line has now imposed its will at the point of attack in four consecutive weeks against some pretty solid D fronts in PHI, WAS, (not CIN obv) and SEA. Just last week SEA completely shut down the PHI offense at the POA.
7. On the podcast @nickfalato and I called last week the best performance by the OL all season. This one, give the matchup, was even better. It's a new best every week now for this OL and that's not homerism/exaggeration. I expect the All-22 will spell the same story. And (cont)
8. When since 2009 have the #Giants been able to say their OL is physically imposing their will with a power/gap rushing attack that is consistently winning at the point of attack? The answer is never. Not one time could you realistically say that since 09. That's takeaway No. 1.
A lot to talk about w/ this #Giants W but the rest we'll save for the #BigBlueBanter recap podcast tonight (shameless plug!)
