Without further ado, let's take a look at one Villa option who can be brought in on a budget and is boasting strong stats which indicate there are returns are on the horizon
🔹 Trézéguet

A thread. 1/9
2/9 - With Grealish (38.2%) and Watkins (8.1%) considered the 'go to' picks for outfield Villa players, why would anyone consider Trézéguet (0.8%)?

Let's look at the last 4️⃣ matches for a comparison of form:

Trézéguet is certainly holding his own in terms of his expected goal involvement.. But is lacking in actual returns. The numbers suggest he is on the verge of points, but is he getting the volume and quality of opportunities to underpin this theory? Let's take a deeper look..

With 6 goals & 2 assists in the 19/20 season, Trézéguet has returns in him. Interestingly his shot accuracy this season is the lowest of the 3 players compared at 31.3%, however Looking at last season his returns came from a shot average of 34% so he's been fairly consistent
7/9
Summary:

If you have the funds available, Grealish and his 5 goals, 6 assists for the season make him hard to ignore. That said, if you are struggling for funds then Trézéguet is certainly one to consider and if you are a believer in expected data, he is certainly 'due'
8/9
What do you get? A fairly consistent goal threat (not much creativity) for 5.3m and with just 0.8% ownership, he could also be a shrewd differential for the upcoming fixtures that include Burnley & WBA in the next 3!
