Success with X's and O's doesn't always equate to success as a Head Coach. There are a lot of guys out there that are great managers of people that deserve a shot that may not be having the success on the field.
There are a ton of great assistants that haven't gotten their shot at a coordinator position that are amazing at managing people. It takes the right administration or ownership to see that.
If administrations and front offices continue to equate scheme success with success as a communicator, teacher or leader, there's always going to be a large chunk of coaches that never get a shot.
Unfortunately, there's a lack of coaches of color at the coordinator levels, so naturally, when there is an emphasis on titles, there will continue to be a void of coaches of color in the top leadership roles. @NCMFC1
How much do we value strong recruiters at smaller schools with smaller budgets, with logos that aren't initially recognizable, or guys at military academies. How much value do small school coaches get for having to navigate the entire application and admissions process.
Lots of great coaches at all levels out there that need next level thinkers in the rooms making hires! This is always a crazy time of year, for so many people. It's going to be interesting to see how the hiring cycle goes. What are schools and front offices valuing this time?
Fascinating to watch how organizations hire.
