On one hand marriage helped people in a lot of ways(medical care, affirming their partnership, etc), on the other hand it’s a capitalistic and patriarchal system designed like other things to make queer people assimilate. I don’t like that people ran with marriage equality (1/3).
I say that because pushing for ME, left a lot of issues/ groups to the fend for themselves afterwards, because queerphobia was over apparently. So I guess homelessness, medical care, transphobia, doesn’t matter, unless cis white gays wanna assimilate, which stinks. (2/3)
Like we have a lot of issues in the community already, that had scarce resources, and a lack of attention on them, that ended up getting tossed away. I don’t wanna be kumbya with cisallohets I want my dignity and fucking basic needs met, that’s it. I want liberation, now.(3/3)
You wanna beg from scraps from rich colonizers in institutions of power that ha repeatedly attacked and traumatized the most marginalized in our communities. I will not sit by while people are denied their dignity, hell disabled people can’t even marry without losing benefits.
Like I’m a queer autistic trans poly person the last thing I want is to assimilate into cisalloheteronormative structures of power where my voice means jack.
