VR Chat: I see that either people love it or hate it but I definitely do not see it going away. It has opened up a way to socialize be it with a headset or on the computer in a much more immersive way than second life ever did for me. So why do I like it? It has been
tough to navigate this year with covid and something as simple as a game has connected so many people. Sort of like twitter but cuter/fun/interactive and extremely creative. As an artist and content creator I thrive in places like this and vr chat has opened new doors for me
that I did not expect to open. It has give me the chance to get back into 3D not just for my suits but to create full avatars like I did back in college but actually wear them. I literally make suits in real life and make digital fursuits in VR chat, I simply adore that I can.
Seeing people excited when they get their avatars and hearing how happy they are when they get them. It never gets old with fursuits and definitely will not get old seeing those reactions in VR. I loose track of time in VR which can be good and bad, which
is why you see me mostly signing on very late at night or on weekends to avoid it eating any part of my day. In a way its a fun way to play pretend, to be anything you want to be and still socialize. I have seen so many come out of their shells in their avatars
and make friends that might of been harder in real life. People excited to get their fursuits (be it they are waiting on them or can't afford suits) but for the time being wear a digital avatar and run as around as their fursona's.
We can meet people from around the world, interact and hang out. I got to chill with great people last night for a few hours just chatting in a digital world, relaxing, chatting. VR chat is great for a variety of reasons and I am forever grateful I gave it a second chance.
I still need to take bonine to play but that is no fault of the game or headset, I just get dizzy all the time. But even with that I can have an amazing time and socialize. It has provided a good way to talk to friends and feel less alone during this crazy year.
Technology, the fandom, artists and everyone I share this creative space with makes life fun <3
