. @JennaEllisEsq, the attorney who appeared alongside Giuliani in MI this week to argue lawmakers should appoint pro-Trump electors, called the error in Antrim's county unofficial election night results "unexplained" on Fox this AM. That's not true. https://bit.ly/3lRGR14
The error has been explained by both Antrim County's clerk and Michigan Secretary of State. Here's Antrim County Clerk Sheryl Guy explaining what happened at a Joint Senate and House Oversight hearing (starts about 2.5 hours in) https://bit.ly/39ZZNJ1
And here's a letter from . @JocelynBenson explaining what happened in Antrim County on pages 13-14. https://bit.ly/2VKk5h8
In Oct., it was discovered that corrections needed to be made to the candidates listed on ballots in Central Lake and Mancelona Townships. The county's election programming vendor sent updated flash cards used to reprogram tabulator compact cards.
The clerk did not realize that all the compact cards had to be reprogrammed. The compact cards do not affect the tabulation of votes. They are put on the tabulator to communicate with the election management system.
Antrim's election programming vendor is Election Source and its tabulators are from Dominion Voting Systems. Tabulators print a paper receipt of the results. This error was in the unofficial report and had it not been immediately corrected, it would have been during the canvass.
After the error was discovered at approx. 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 4 by the clerk, it was quickly fixed. At 10:59 a.m. Antrim County began manually entering the numbers from the tabulator tapes. https://bit.ly/3giUw00
“I cannot express how very unfortunate it is that the human error has called into question the integrity of Antrim County’s election process and placed it front and center at the national level," Antrim County's clerk said during a joint oversight hearing.
