Last I heard we had a world of very wealthy Silents and Boomers whose advanced age makes them the true targets of COVID, in almost all positions of power.

We also have a lot of brilliant poor Millennials of Color looking for their American dream in the streets.

Any sensible society would ask questions:

Do we truly need physicians and nurses for all the work to do?

Is medical education perfectly optimized? If not, has medical education shrunk the time to certification using all our new technology? If not, why not?

We act brain dead.

We could have a diversity and inclusion program: “Do you have a pulse and the ability to understand organic chemistry? Great. Here’s a radically accelerated education, a career and a future. Go propose to someone, buy a house, and get the hell in there.”

So why not do this?

Because the leaders are lying. They don’t believe we’re still the same people who won WWII. We don’t believe that our people protesting in the streets can be trained. They don’t believe medical/nursing education can change. They don’t think we can tax rent-seekers to pay for it.

The America of 1941 could do this. The American of 2020 is not that country. And those of us in a 1941 frame of mind are pretty sick of being led by these old can’t-do people.
