Because as skinny people, we aren't neglected by doctors when we bring issues up who think every issue we have is because we're fat and left to suffer or even die bc no one will see past the fat to find the issue

We don't lose job opportunities bc the job doesn't want fat people https://twitter.com/_shayyy___/status/1335634750191570944
We don't have to deal with the fact that stores have a crumb of a section dedicated to our size and even then it isn't inclusive

We don't have to deal with posting selfies happily just to get a bunch of people telling us we're glorifying obesity by existing.
We don't have too deal with our body size not being represented on tv unless to play the part im a trope.

We don't have to deal with movies choosing to hire skinny actors and put them in fat suits instead of just hiring a fat talented actor (and there's tons).
We don't have to worry about not being able to fit in seats on planes, public transportation, restaurants, public benches etc. Or even being forced to purchase two plane tickets to accommodate our body bc the plane designer didn't design the seats large enough.
And since this always gets brought up, the body shaming I experienced in my life? It wasn't oppression. It wasn't the same as fatphobia which is literally systematic and kills fat people and no one blinks an eye because they think that if you're fat you deserve it.
I could still turn anywhere for validation that my body size was acceptable. Fat people do not share that same experience
And yes, people do wish they were skinny because of all of the above. They may not have said it to your face but everyone, and I do mean everyone, has internalized fatphobia because that's how ingrained it is.

So even if they never said it to you, it was likely a thought.
Especially considering the way society literally is against fatness and deems skinny as inherently healthy and fatness as inherently unhealthy despite the fact that it's been disproven and explained that that hardheaded mindset comes from fatphobia.
a wonderful person to follow who literally talks (and writes!) About this all the time is @blackfatqueer. Following her reinforced my understanding of how so much shit is linked to fatphobia.
