Jupp Heynckes and Hansi Flick double interview in Kicker in the next few tweets ⬇️⬇️
Heynckes: "Never before in football history has a coach had so much success within a year. I had to wait 34 years to win the treble. It took Hansi 10 months to win it. You cannot learn what he's done. I take off my hat"
Heynckes on his dance during the 2013 celebration: "Bastian Schweinsteiger asked me in front of 1000 people to do it back then. Otherwise, I wouldn't have."

Q: Were you that good on the dance floor this year Hansi?

Flick: "It's better that none of that has become public"
Heynckes: "Hansi has a gift of empathy and ability to communicate. Football is not just about technicality and physicality, the soul is as important. Knowing how to deal with the players and the staff is fundamental, and Hansi has excelled when it comes to that"
Flick: "Jupp, a part of my staff now already worked with you in 2012/13, the coaches, the physios. They help me so that I can focus on the essentials. In addition to the attractive and successful football, our time together is the best thing about working here"
Another similarity between you is that you're never euphoric after wins & you immediately focus on the next tasks.

Heynckes: "it's normal to react with calm after wins but at the same time enjoy them. You immediately think about preparing the next game. Football is fast moving"
Flick: "At Bayern as you know, Jupp, you have to win and play well"
Heynckes: "Narrow wins are quite normal with this tight schedule. Since Hansi took over the team, the players have been in top shape. Dr. Broich is a luminary in the fitness area. Overall, you need a professional, great, loyal, humanly harmonious staff of coaches"
Flick: "During the Doha training camp, we showed the players a presentation with the route to the three trophies. And like with Jupp in 2013, we trained three times a day. We took from Jupp's training plans"
Flick: "The team gained confidence and we had a good feeling. And during the preparation, everyone went along really well without any complaints, because everyone trusted the coaching team. Thiago told me back then: Coach, that was damn hard"
Heynckes: "Top Tennis players hit the same balls hundreds of times: serve, forehand, backhand, volley. In football, too, you've to practice the basis everyday, this is the only way to get perfect in the passing game for example. You can see at Bayern that these things are working
Flick on motivation after winning everything: "Lewis Hamilton is world champion every year, yet he wants to win every race. That's what makes champions. There is no satisfaction for us either. You always need to give 100% in training and in games"
Flick: "I'm 55 years old, so it was important that I get success quickly. I couldn't wait 34 years (laughs)"
Heynckes: "It would have been difficult with over 80 years old"
Which elements from 2013 are still in the Bayern game?

Heynckes: "Every team has its own style. Messi is not copying Maradona. Everyone has to go their own way. You can learn from everything and from everyone"
Heynckes on Louis van Gaal changing the Bayern game in 2009: "Van Gaal was one of the best coaches in the history of football. I've seen a lot. I watched a lot of his games and wanted to play as aggressively, with positional play & attacking schemes, but also with a stable cover"
Flick: "Jupp, in my early days as coach, I also had a lot of interest in Dutch football, in Foppe de Haan or Louis van Gaal. So we had similar interests"
Mr Heynckes, you left your team after winning the treble in 2013..

Heynckes: "I didn't leave them. The team was taken from me (laughs). Hansi was smarter, he carried on"
Heynckes: "In 2012 we finished second in all competitions, including the lowest point in the CL final at home. Normally, no Bayern coach survives this. Uli Hoeneß fought a lot for me there. It's normal for a big club like Bayern to inquire when a coach like Guardiola is available
Heynckes: "Our incredible run in the second half of the season then winning the treble was not predictable. In 2013 I was able to retire with peace of mind"
Flick: "We won 5 titles, but things go on. I know what would be going on here if you lose two games. That's why it's best to win at Bayern. But for me it's always about our path & the development of the team. Today's success with today's methods don't guarantee tomorrow's success
Flick on the possibility of winning the CL with another club as Heynckes did with Real: "At the moment, I wouldn't mind if my successful path continues here.
I really like it in Munich. When I moved here in 2019, I immediately felt at home. The club offers the best opportunities"
Heynckes on Bayern's 2020 treble: "I watched it in the TV room at home, all by myself, because I don't like being disturbed when watching football. I trembled watching the final although I was optimistic because Bayern had the better team with outstanding mentality"
Will Bayern vs Liverpool be the biggest game in Europe in the coming years?

Heynckes: "Possible. If both teams have their best squads"

Flick: "I'm fully focused on Bayern at the moment, but I don't want to contradict Jupp. He has more experience & watches all leagues"
Heynckes: When you see the age of the new US president, I've to consider going back to coaching (laughs). The constellation in Munich is ideal, Hansi, you've a collection of top players. For
every coach it's a pleasure to work with such a team. Its a huge task but a wonderful one
