I was recently asked: If you could give a piece of advice to yourself in your first week of creating, what would you say?

I think they expected some sort of tactical strategy. Ship faster. Solve problems. Build an audience.

Here was mine: Understand the emotion of jealousy...🧵
1/ As you create, you will rub shoulders with ppl that under some circumstance, make you jealous.

This is inevitable. No matter your talent, there is always someone further up the mountain you’re trying to climb. And the higher you climb, the more impressive your surroundings.
2/ More importantly, jealousy is a very natural human emotion. Notice it. Embrace it.

Take note of why you're jealous. Often, it relates less to another person and their success, and more about your internal struggle; the delta between your current state and desired state.
3/ The antidote to jealousy is awareness and a focus on what you can change.

It's about closing *your* gap, not theirs; a focus on minimizing the delta between *your* wants and *your* actions.

Envy is a byproduct of ambition...and multiple people can climb the same mountain.
