By chance, we started tracking teacher work-related anxiety in 2019. It means we now have a full year of data, covering how anxiety changed during the pandemic. Quite an astonishing set of data - and shows the outsized impact on headteachers. @TeacherTapp
A few key findings:
- Private teachers have been equal on anxiety with state teachers, and sometimes way above, since the pandemic started. This was not the case beforehand.
- Headteachers have barely caught a break the entire time.

- The biggest spikes coincided with big government decisions OR with leaks of government announcements. Basically, huge changes outside of teachers' hands make for massive amounts of anxiety.
