When An Investment Yields a Loss: How To Deal Like VC Han Ji Pyeong.

A wrap-up thread from a solid #TeamJiPyeong stan. #StartUpEp16 #StartUpEp15 #StartUp #ThankYouJipyeong
Let It Go.
A. Learn to read the signs. JP noticed the effect DS’s return had on DM and saw early on the feelings the two still had for each other, among other observations. He calculated the percentage of success and saw that it wasn’t to his favor. #StartUpEp15 #StartUpEp16
B. Bow out gracefully. Not only did Ji Pyeong let go of Dalmi; he even gave advise and encouragement to Dosan on how to pursue her. Stay classy Ji Pyeong, always our good boy. 🥺 #StartUpEp15 #StartUpEp16 #ThankYouJipyeong
Reassess and Recoup your Losses.
A. Rewind and assess where you went wrong. Staying safe? Taking your time? Being a timid batter? A miscalculation? Not being upfront with feelings? #StartUpEp15 #StartUpEp16 #TeamGoodBoy
B. Recover the input. In the end, Ji Pyeong got the letters back, his original investment/capital. And the cared-for money tree, the wish for success which is what he’ll need should he try batting again. (Note: KSH Side Profile 😍) #StartUpEp15 #StartUpEp16 #ThankYouJipyeong
3. Take a Breather. Avoid if you must. Dongcheon will have your back. Cry and receive comfort from halmeoni. 😭🥺 #StartUpEp15 #StartUpEp16 #TeamGoodBoy #ThankYouJipyeong
4. Recalibrate goals. Jipyeong repaid a debt by becoming an angel investor. He learned to appreciate the people around him (I’m looking at you, #Dongpyeon 😍). He’s going to open up and laugh and cry all he wants with halmeoni. 🥺 #StartUpEp15 #StartUpEp16 #ThankYouJipyeong
5. Move On. VCs are resilient w/ a high degree of stamina in order to hear dozens of pitches & to sift through the right ones. If a right investment comes along, don’t miss it. I have high confidence that JP will bounce back and find the happiness he deserves. 😊 #StartUpEp16
My POV: As a kdrama watcher, I forgot what I was here for in the midst of the fan wars. I fought 😆 (sorry for being mean, condescending, & sarcastic). I invested too much. Near the end, I realized I was here to be entertained. If I lost that thought, I wouldn’t have enjoyed this
In spite of my sunken JiDal ship, I admit I enjoyed this imperfect show. I found a fun kdrama community, engaged in intelligent discourse, & I loved dissecting every scene. I got my worst kdrama 💔 but I got one hell of a kdrama watching experience. 🤭 #ThankYouStartUp -out-
