So here's the thing about Audrey Gordon's Twitter incident last night:
(Long thread coming up, my apologies)
I'm not even going to get into the appropriateness of an MLA blocking people from what appears to be their official Twitter account

But Gordon was asked an appropriate question, she was asked for her opinion on Springs since she is both a PC MLA and member of Springs. The answer to the question should have been easy and straightforward. The answer should have hit the following points:
That as a PCMB MLA, she 100% backed the govt's COVID response and while a member of Springs, she did not attend drive in services since code red was put in place ( she could say she watched them on TV or didn't attend) that's all she had to say. But she didn't.
She deflected. To me that means one of two things. Either PCMLA's are conditioned to deflect as their response to any type of questioning, or a much more serious reason: She simply couldn't make the statement
If she disagrees with the government's response to COVID or if she had actually attended drive in services, then she would not have been able to make the above statement. Then we have a major problem
This goes beyond Cameron Friesen's " They have good points" gaffe. This is conceivably the equivalent of Friesen participating in the protests. We're in the middle of the most dangerous pandemic of the last 100 years. Our ability to get through it requires us to
adhere to public health orders. As a government MLA, you CANNOT be seen to be promoting anything contrary to these orders. You have to be 110% behind them. So Audrey Gordon needs to come out and express her support for government health orders. She needs
to be clear that she did not attend any of the drive in services. If she did, instead of watching The Springs zoom service this morning, she needs to be writing her caucus resignation. And if she doesn't, then Brian Pallister needs to ask for it
on Monday. All Pallister's pleas for people to stay home and to get the COVID numbers down mean nothing if his MLAs are acting in contrary to those orders.
I hope she wasn't at the drive in services. I hope she can say she supports the gov't 110%. But if she was there
I hope she wasn't at the drive in services. I hope she can say she supports the gov't 110%. But if she was there
or thinks that Springs is being unfairly targeted, then she needs to resign from caucus.
End.
End.
