"Don't hold Disney+ to a different standard than Netflix or Peacock regarding releasing older content" is quite the argument to make, in that it is a terrible and self-serving one.
Of course, half the reason why this is a terrible argument is that Netflix (unlike Peacock) is not a streaming service directly linked to a studio with nearly a century's worth of films, TV shows, and short films. Terrible even if you limit it to Peacock.
Shocking though it may be, Disney+ can continue to appeal to a wide audience with The Mandalorian/MCU stuff/etc., AND also release older films, shorts and shows. They can do two things at the same time! They choose not to, for no good reason.
Anyway, it's just sad to see people who boast of being well-connected regurgitate talking points without doing any critical thinking surrounding those talking points.
Two things can be true.

1. Disney+ has been a huge success, far beyond what basically everyone guessed.

2. Disney+ should be adding more older titles, and the decision to not do so is a strategy with little thought built in.
Now, this is a standard for streaming services I can agree with. https://twitter.com/alirichthem/status/1335668136054566916
“Not enough people want to watch old Disney shows and movies to justify adding them to Disney+.

Also, not adding these shows and movies is a business strategy to keep subscribers happy!”
(You can argue one or the other, not both. The first is quite probably the correct answer, and it’s still a bad answer.)
If you keep tabs on what Disney+ adds on a monthly basis, you’ll notice that the majority of newly added library content in the last few months is Nat Geo documentaries.

Is the audience for those massive? Maybe! They’d have to be, I guess.
Funny to also see someone argue that Disney+ is actually withholding old titles for being problematic.

There’s a few problematic titles that are streaming right now without the Stories Matter warning.
Here’s a few screenshots from Man in Space. It’s streaming on Disney+! No warning at the start! Very, very problematic! https://twitter.com/mousterpiece/status/1333104392371806213
Proposed: there’s a possibility that Disney+ added some titles with no awareness of what those titles were, and the choice not to post other old titles is because enough people in power are unaware of their existence.
In an ideal world, this investor event on Thursday will feature Disney talking about a new way to amplify its legacy content. I would love for that to happen. I am not expecting it to happen.
