Tearing apart the claims in the article are there some legitimate discussions that are getting squashed with fear and firings?

1) how the government is handling it (is it truly the best way considering what we know about the virus)?
2) discussions about other social costs
Why is firing an acceptable response to someone, even if they're wrong? In what situations should this kind of firing be acceptable, if at all? Why is the company really firing them? What kind of fear is motivating it? Doesn't it give those ideas (right or wrong) more press?
Maybe I should put it this way, what's wrong with letting him think what he thinks? What's with this requirement that everyone agrees wholeheartedly with how our government is doing things? What's with this approval of shaming and punishment - get him fired. That'll teach him?🤷‍♀️
OTOH, by not wearing the mask, did he break the law in British Columbia?
