THERE, fucking finally I am completely done with Hajimari 130 hours later
First of all much thanks to my homie @Nuthingdude for letting me play his copy, would not be possible without him and likewise big props from me to the zerofield peeps I knew the spreadsheet was a big thing for CS4 people but I personally got to experience it myself very grateful
collecting my thoughts on the game, that was a LOT

will drop a review or something soon
Alright it's time

I'll get the negatives out of the way as usual, my only gripe with the narrative was that one character's motivations I still don't understand...people think CS4 was confusing but this is a big "???" to me, thankfully the character isn't too big
2nd, the OST is probably overall the weakest in the series? despite having the most consistent set of solemn tracks and some of the best highs

with some odd placement choices, reusing older tracks was fine not a big issue really
The presentation as in the UI and cut scenes are absolutely top notch, the cut scenes looks stunning and the one in the new engine is even more impressive

Really hyped for what they can show in the future

at that, the battle system is the most fluid and fun it has been
Next, the route system! this is 100% the best idea the series has had

A mystery unfolding through 3 different lens all converging at a more interpersonal "we all HAVE to come together" point is unbelievably rewarding
CS4 does the trope well too but this time it feels more personal due to spoilers and bigger even, since there are more people here

not to pick at CS4 or anything the way it concludes the CS arc is orgasmic too, but there it was more about Erebonia

both approaches are great
The episodes are all good, not a single bad one and they even contain what I believe is the best the series has to offer (looking at Osborne) while a lot of them are painfully rewarding even it hurts how good off a send off they are to some
Hajimari at its core is more of a last note to the series than anything, I wasn't expecting it to pop off as hard as CS4 but it even goes further beyond for a plot mostly exclusive to this game
The pacing is succinct and very to the point, it only maybe feels slow during the first Lloyd chapter but after that it's a constant ride of dopamine and peaks

It certainly helps with keeping your investment at the brim for all of its runtime
The True Reverie Corridor is integrated perfectly into the story and even has a post game story that's surprisingly good, great lore reveals and an even more insane "final" final boss somehow

(it's basically sky the 3rd in Hajimari)
Next the new cast, I am not sure if they're my favourite but they're definitely a shout for the strongest with all of them being S tier while retaining thematic kino

I love them a lot, if I had to order it's C > Lapis > Swin > Nadia
Hajimari fully lives up to its job as a last note to the first half, it wraps up everything greatly with interconnecting episodes that tie into the story etc it leaves you depressed, satisfied and empty at the same time
The finale somehow peaked even harder than CS4 and is my favourite stretch in the series, just peak fiction no more no less
I forgot to add but the battle system is a lot more balanced than CS4 as well

but anyway with that I'm done saying what I wanted to about the game, I am REALLY REALLY excited for the future with this half of it ending on the series' biggest highs
Games Tier list
Ranking
Character tier list, not sure what my top 5 is ordered like but rn I think it's Osborne > Loewe = Crow = Rean > Renne
