My Chads,

If you are crushing trading BTC / futures on leverage, that does NOT mean you are any good at picking projects based on fundamentals.

If you made a lot of money at Uniswap plays, that does NOT mean you are any good at trading BTC / futures on lev.

Let me ELI5. https://twitter.com/CryptoAxioms/status/1335554954946248705
1/ Trading leverage BTC is a completely different game from fundamental based picks like Uniswap low cap plays. Know your edge / personality and choose what you want to excel at.
2/ Leverage BTC trading means an environment with high liquidity. The best leverage BTC traders are better than their opponents at using TA (using various tools), know the flow of the market (that "gut" feeling), and have the emotional stability to execute.
2/ There is little FA (besides overall macro context) needed, and it is more of a TA environment. Your opponents are algo's, (short-term) prop firm and retail traders, (long-term) investors (retail and funds).
3/ A reasoning for going into a trade could be something like "We just had XX long liquidations, meanwhile RSI is oversold, we are at support, and the footprint shows buying, I go long with stop X, target Y, entry Z."
3/ Uniswap plays are however mostly FA driven and take into accounts narratives, catalysts, how hyped is it on twitter. It is a game of information asymmetry. Some TA works, but it's mostly just to gauge momentum and can be ruined by a single whale cashing out due to low liq.
4/ There are also no limit orders (though some third party solutions exist) on Uniswap and you cannot go short. This changes the dynamic. I.e. there are less "stop hunts" like in LEV BTC trading, as there's nobody to stop out lol.
5/ An example of going into a Uniswap play may be:
" $SYN has mainnet coming and I don't think many people realize the potential of this mainnet. Also not many people on twitter talk about it. The team seems legit, it has a good community and I think there are strong holders."
6/ As you can see, the reasoning for going into a trade on
(relatively low liquidity) Uniswap coin compared to going into BTC on leverage, is completely different.
7/ One of the worst mistakes I see people make, is that once they become good at one type of trade, they think they are also good at other types of trade. Be confident, but stay humble. Start with small amounts in whatever skill set you're learning and scale up on the way.
