This is complicated and I can't get the words out right but I just want to say how much I've appreciated the effort the Invisible Summer team have put into #accessibility (multimedia play for your inbox from @EevLee @royalcourt)
All videos feature signing and captions, most text either has audio description accompaniments or works with screen readers, every image has (superbly written) alt text to the point you rage when other sites don't do the same.
The show touches on all kinds of themes (notably #ableism) so the least you'd expect is an accessible show, but the sad thing is that isn't the least you expect from other more 'mainstream' shows, which is frankly embarrassing.
This is #accessible #culture built from the ground up in the context of a pandemic, which has put pressure on us all but even more on the most marginalised areas of society, whether #shielding or being unable to afford enough food for the week
Properly accessible culture isn't a luxury, it is an essential necessity and I applaud the brilliant work @SlungLow are doing, which is not so much image alt text and more food banks, fundraising £100k to improve physical access an Pay What You Decide shows
