"Of course no one in academic macroeconomics is publishing theory papers that literally just shout “Give people money!"." ~ @Noahpinion
PS I have journal published macro research, some a decade old that says that. several do before Olivier Blanchard endorsed it.

PPS it took a very long time to debunk macro theories, like Ricardian Equivalence (zombie that WILL NOT die). only way to do that is with careful, voluminous empirical research and then follow the theoretical models. many have contributed.
here's the link to Noah's Substack post: https://noahpinion.substack.com/p/the-new-macro-give-people-money honestly, I don't care who gets the credit for the shift in public policy. ain't gonna happen until the big boys endorse it. #goteam
ok. finished his post. argument's fine. missing a lot of work in macro from academics/government economists. so much cool work by men and women, most early- / mid-career.
even if you're counting Twitter world, my support for more fiscal is louder the star of Noah's post :-)

once Olivier noted in private to me that "our styles are different" on here. YES THEY ARE. we basically 'span the set' of macro on Twitter in style. we often overlap on substance. when we don't, uh, I get feisty (to a fault). http://macromomblog.com/2020/05/25/why-talk-about-inflation/
PS photo was a bit unfair. I am vivid. and a regular stop on my daily walks is the cemetery behind house I rented until this summer. can't stomach it as often now. so many new graves.
PS moving week when my "disgrace" post went up and I starting lived my "really a disgrace" post
