My takeaways from their podcast.

The idea behind writing this thread is to make sure that we can access that knowledge without watching the show again and again.

[A THREAD]
You do the most of what your parent's did, and not what your parents said you to do.

Hence, Amish started reading inspired by his family and parents.
Amish used to read 5-6 books per month, for decades.
The ancestors of Indian people used to be liberal about women's rights and as well as transgenders rights, way before the idea emerged in the west.
One of the law books in our Indian scriptures used to say that,

"If you have cheated on your wife, your life itself is the penalty for this."

And the same conservative book was saying,

"LGBTQ relationships are normal."
The most powerful line of dynasty in India i.e. the Chandravanshis (The clan of Pandavas and Lord Krishna) was founded by a transgender named Ila ( when she was in her female form).

After founding the dynasty, Ila became male.

Imagine, the essence of our Indian culture.
Our ancestors were liberal as well as tough.
The India in Amish's time was,

- Do Engineering or,

- Do Medicine or,

- Do MBA else, you die hungry.

Unlike today, in the age and leverage of internet.
Amish was so risk averse that he wrote his first two books while simultaneously doing his job.

It took him around 5 years to write his first book.
Alexander the Great who defeated the greatest empire of that time (Persia), he almost was being pushed to a draw by Poras.

There was a time when Indians used to defeat every invaders trying to conquer the land.
India once was 35% of the total world's GDP, for almost 1000s of years.

Even US today is just 20% of the total.
Today, Mukesh wants to be called as Mike.

And once there was a time when, people from other places used to have Indian names to raise their status.
The favorite past time of today's India is infighting.

Be it over,

- Caste

- Politics

- Religion

- Colour

- Status
Oxford and Cambridge are 500-600 years old, while Takshshila in the Indian Subcontinent, where Acharya Chanakya was the teacher, was 2500 years old.
Greece, mother culture of Europe has around 30,000 manuscripts tabulated, while the Sanskrit works from India which have been tabulated goes to around 30,00,000 (3 mn).

Its more than the whole ancient world combined!
Indian ocean is the only ocean in the world where the wind changes its direction every season.
India doesn't have too much Goldmines but still, was named as the golden bird.

Why?

Because of centuries of trade surpluses.
If you gonna cry on social media, also give solutions man.

Its not cool to criticize but to create.

Trust the experts.
Indians used to attract people through influencing and not by force.

If we continue this core principle of value addition above validation, no one can stop India to become a superpower till 2050.
Ranveer: When you are ambitious, you are automatically busy and when you are busy, you are automatically respectful of all other professions.
The three basic needs of a human are:

1. Food
2. Shelter
3. Storytelling

Education is best understood when it is taught in the form of a story.
The search of Sita in the epic of Mahabharata teaches us the way we need to learn Geography.

All of them were scattered in all four directions even after knowing that, Lanka is in the South.
Or say in the Mahabharat, the Vidura neeti is the education of governance in the garb of a story.

Shanti Parva of Mahabharata is about civics and laws.
Fun fact:

Ramayana (35 years old) re telecast in India got more viewership than GOT all over the world combined.

Indian ancestors said, the only subject which can claim absolute truth is not Mythology or History but Mathematics.
Hitler may be the most tragic history personality for the world but for India, Wiston Churchill is even worse than Hitler.

Wiston Churchill ordered man made famine, killing 3 million Indians.
He's a God like man for the British but he's a not the same for the Indians for obvious reasons.

This shows, there is nothing like absolute truth through the dilution of our perspectives.

There is always opinion and opinion all around.

Be strong with your own truth.
There are more Sanskrit departments in foreign universities than in India.

You should not focus on what the world is doing to you rather what you are doing to the world.

The pandemic might be a nightmare for the human species but a heaven like thing for our mother nature.
Dharma is all about balance.

Vidura has said in the Mahabharata two ways to waste money:

1. Giving charity to unworthy.

2. Not giving charity to the worthy.

"Be humble in this life else life will bestow humbleness upon you."

~ Mike Tyson
