THREAD on Rajinikanth's political incidents since 1990s. We might've known some but I feel these clips have little additional details.
1. How Rajinikanth and politics met each other? In 1991, Rajini wanted to meet CM as cops troubled Rajini fans. But his request to meet the CM was denied.
2. Without any confirmation from Rajinikanth, many news media wrote articles in name of "Rajini entering politics?" to earn money.

Media are the main villains in creating an illusion that "Rajini has been saying he will enter politics for many years."
3. RM Veerapan (politician & producer of Baasha) explains Rajinikanth's powerful speech against bomb blast in Baasha function, 1995.
4. Cho explains Rajinikanth created a political wave only because of people's concerns on ruling Govt.

He didn't do that for his personal reasons like traffic jam issue vs Jayalalitha or something else. He never took those personal issues seriously.
5. P Chidambaram explains how Rajinikanth helped DMK in tasting a landslide victory in 1996.

He took the message of defeating ADMK within 10-12 days, itself. BOOM! Just like that! That too, via television.
6. Rajinikanth voiced against bomb blast in Coimbatore in 1998 (also gave relief fund) & welcomed Jayalalitha's statement of making TN as India's no.1 state in 2001.
7.1 In 2002, Rajinikanth's voice in demanding Cauvery water has its unique history. When Tamil cinema industry was protesting at Neyveli, Rajini approached this issue practically.
7.2 Rajinikanth gave sharp warning to those who use his name to politicize in Cauvery water issue. He fasted for 9 hours against Karnataka Govt.

If Govt announces linking of south-Indian rivers plan, he pledged to give 1 Crore.
8.1 Cho explains why Rajini should enter politics & lists his qualities.

Most importantly, he says "Rajini must come in right time." That's why Rajini picked 2017-18. Timing!
8.2 Cho strongly clarifies Rajinikanth can never be influenced by anyone. His choice of words are simply brilliant.
9. Karunanidhi - "Rajinikanth is very careful in not hurting anyone."

Explains why he's not opting for blame game politics.
