The Home Office wants to deport Non-UK nationals for rough sleeping. Homelessness is a structural issue that has been amplified hugely because of the pandemic and that is more likely to impact those who have no recourse to public funds. https://twitter.com/refuweegee/status/1335158870017269760

Anti-Slavery International and the Salvation Army have warned policy makers that this choice will lead to trafficking victims being wrongly deported and enable employers to exploit workers, using threat of deportation to coerce them into low pay and inhumane working conditions.
2018-19 research showed that 25% of households in England who were homeless or under threat of homelessness were in paid work. In some places more than half of working households were under threat of losing their homes. (Observer Analysis)
Under No Recourse to Public Funds, many migrants can’t access state support which obviously puts them at greater risk of homelessness - there is no safety net. In the UK residents IN PAID WORK face homelessness, this policy is punishing people for our structural failings.
Nobody should be deported for rough sleeping or homelessness. The suggestion is nothing short of barbaric.
