At conference in Manama, Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal slams Israel as not really a democracy, colonialist, apartheid, says there can be no peace w\\o peace w Palestinians.

Ashkenazi, apparently caught off guard, just says the remarks "don't reflect the new atmosphere in the ME"
Someone asked Prince Turki about Prince Bandar slamming the Palestinians, and he said that was a personal opinion and also has nothing to do with the Abraham Accords.
Prince Turki just said that when Israel talks about talks w the Palestinians w\\o preconditions that the settlements are preconditions and should be removed first.

So...Israel should evict half a million people just for the Palestinians to deign to speak to us? Great plan.
I keep waiting for Ashkenazi to, you know, stand up for Israel, and it hasn't happened. He's very focused on the Abraham Accords being an opportunity and Israel being open to negotiations w the Palestinians, but doesn't respond to Turki's absurd statements and lies.
. @DrDoreGold to Prince Turki: Shifts in how we look at the ME given the emotions our nations have gone through are very difficult...Do we want to be caught up in the accusations of the past, many of which are false or do we want to present the young gan w a positive vision ?
A little from behind the scenes: Both Ashkenazi and the Bahraini side were surprised by Prince Turki’s tone, since this was supposed to be a panel about peace. Ashkenazi and his staff decided not to escalate out of respect for the Bahraini hosts.
Maybe the Saudis are getting Israel back for leaking the MBS-Netanyahu meeting
