If there’s any other person that deserves a lifetime achievement award in the industry it’s Olamide, asides being one of the greatest artists of our time his impact has also been seen in the industry with the amount of people he has helped in his career.
Since Olamide started in the industry he has always shown mad love and support to the streets and the young talents in the industry, here’s a thread of the people Olamide has helped in his career
1) Lil Kesh: Before this talented rapper had the chance to meet Olamide he used to freestyle in high schools around Lagos, his friend Viktoh introduced him to Olamide and he was signed to YBNL records where he dropped his first single lyrically and the rest is history,
2) Adekunle Gold: In 2015 Adekunle Gold was signed to YBNL and at that time he was the only singer in the label a lot of mixed feelings came into the public whether a singer could thrive in a hiphop dominated label like YBNL but at the end of the day he proved to be a hitmaker..
After dropping popular hits that year like Sade & Orente which gave him the recognition he needed to become a superstar.
3) Ycee: The Tinny Entertainment rapper at the time had just dropped his popular song Jagaban in 2015 but the song did not go on to be a massive hit till he made a remix with Olamide which gave Ycee mainstream success in the Nigerian industry and made him a superstar
4) Phyno: The indigenous rapper was already a producer that had worked with artists like Illbliss and was signed to Capital Dreams records but when he made his breakthrough as a rapper his first major hit that gave him mainstream success was Ghost Mode a song which he featured
Olamide Badoo on, they would go on to be one of the best collaborators in the Nigerian music scene and drop countless hits together like Fada Fada, Ladi, Onyeoma etc.
5) Pepenazi: The rapper had just dropped his popular song Low but had not yet found himself in the mainstream scene of the industry until Olamide Badoo appeared in his popular street anthem in 2015 “ILLEGAL” which was a successful hit
6) Bella Shmurda: This talented young act had just dropped his new single Vision 2020 which he did a small video and posted story, the video gained the attraction of Poco Lee who introduced him to Olamide which led to the remix of the song which became a popular hit in 2019
7) Zlatan Ibile: The Zanku crooner had his major breakthrough in 2017 when he featured Olamide on his hit song “My Body” the song was a massive hit which also gained the attention of superstar Davido who also made it more popular by dancing to the song on his Instagram page
8) DJ Enimoney: Eniola Adedeji also known as DJ Enimoney is the younger brother to Olamide as the official DJ of his brothers record label it’s safe to say he was put on by his brother who made him successful in the game
9) Chinko Ekun: This indigenous raper caught the attention of Olamide after he heard some of his songs in 2014, that same year he performed on stage at OLIC 2014 and featured on 3 tracks Olamide’s album “Street OT” his success story was paved through King Badoo
10) Fireboy DML: Olamide had been hearing some of Fireboys music and was impressed by his talent and sound and he decided to give him a call himself and tell him he was interested in signing him, the singer appeared in the December 2018 label album called the YBNL mafia album
Where his mega hit single Jealous was one of the songs from the album, today Fireboy is one of the fast rising stars from Nigeria and has established himself locally and internationally as a superb talent.
11) Viktoh: Viktoh is a day one friend of Olamide who had always supported him from his days of Enj Duro, Olamide returned the favor by signing him to his label when he became a star later on in life he might be one of the most criticized artists from the label but we can all see
the impact Olamide had on his life.
12) Naira Marley: Olamide had previously worked with Naira Marley in the UK back in 2016 on a song called “Ko si Werey” but it wasn’t until 2018 the artist found mainstream success after he featured Olamide and Lil Kesh on his hit single “Issa Goal” which was a massive song
That earned him a gig with Coca Cola to make a remix of the song for the FIFA 2018 World Cup.
13) Lyta: Lyta was an artist affiliated with YBNL he got recognition in 2018 after his breakthrough hit with Olamide “TIME” which was a successful single
