while the booing of taking the knee is obviously racist, the laughable excuse of "BLM is Marxism" is its own form of white supremacist logic
Black people were having to fight for their lives to matter for centuries before Marx was born.
Black people were having to fight for their lives to matter for centuries before Marx was born.
the impulse to fold the Black radical tradition, the long history of marronage and slave rebellion and resistance to colonisation and domination into Eurocentric logics is deeply white supremacist
it mimics the logic of the KKK and the National Front who assumed that communists, usually Jews, had to be behind Black resistance because Black people couldn't possibly have agency.
this fits into a broader white supremacist historiography that dominates Western societies, which sees enslaved ppl as having been "freed" rather than freeing themselves, or beatified & cleansed rewrites of MLK/Mandela that sees white power relenting to persuasive moral argument
