It is disrespectful to people of African descent to suggest that our entire history has been about oppression and slavery at the hands of 'evil' Europeans. If you study history, you find that black people do not hold a monopoly on victimhood. ALL races have been oppressed.
The word 'slave' itself comes from 'Slav', which reflects the huge number of Eastern Europeans (all white) who were enslaved by the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years.
In North America, it was the thousands of Irish and English people who were shipped out to work as 'indentured servants' which gave the plantation owners the idea to replace them with African slaves once the forcible transportations dried up.
How to get African slaves from inside a totally unexplored 'Dark Continent' only the coastline of which was mapped by Europeans? With the collusion of the natives, that's how. African Kings were extremely happy to swap whole cargoes of slaves in return for guns.
Finally, if you take Jews as an example. They were the 'original' slaves in the Bible. They were exiled from their homeland 2000 years ago. Persecuted ever since. 6 million murdered in the Holocaust only 80 years ago. Do people think of them as victims? No! I wonder why.
Do the left 'take the knee' to remember the victims of Jewish pogroms or the Holocaust? No. Instead, they persecute them to appease their Muslim friends. This shows the true hypocrisy of the whole identity politics movement.
