The German pair were only detained for quarantine in Melbourne by pure chance and luck, not any sort of management. ...4/

4. First story had it that they were spotted by a clerk at a car rental kiosk at Melbourne Airport who overheard them and surmised they had flown in from Germany. By coincidence the agent must have been conversant in German and put the zwei und zwei together and contacted ...5/

5. the authorities. Hmm. Second story has it that the German mom and son got lost in the Melbourne terminal once they got there, and a kindly security guard asked them if he could help. He then gleaned from the conversation that they had just arrived from Germany via Sydney ...6/

6. and notified quarantine authorities. This seems to confirm to me that the Germans did not claim they had an exemption, because they hid nothing nor lied to the security guard in Melbourne.

What is clear that on arrival in Sydney, the Border Farce ...7/

7. waved them through, although they must have showed them their German passports and the visas therein. No just a minute madam, I'll just make a quick call. Simply waved through. So that is fuck-up no.1. ...8/

8. Then the Germans were blithely directed to domestic terminal by a NSW cop. It is alleged they told the junior copper they had an "exemption", albeit he never asked for any paperwork. This claim by the junior copper sounds like self-preservation bullshit. ...9/

9. The cop told them how to get to the domestic terminal for their onward trip to Melbourne. The Sydney International terminal is 5km distant from the Domestic Terminal. How did they get there? Did they hop a cab? A shuttle? The train? ...10/

10. Virgin VA838 aircraft that carried Mutti und Sohn was sent for deep cleaning, all its passengers were told to self-isolate. So what about cab/shuttle/train? And its passengers? ...11/

11. If the German pair caught the train between the terminals, then that train would have gone on to pick up passengers all the way to Central and then the City Circle, then all stations to Bankstown. What a fuckup.
