Thread: Each year, starting with Week 40, @OHAOregon begins tracking the flu cases across the state. They've been doing this since 2008-09 and call it "Flu Bites" Someone has put up data for the last 3 years and comparing it with 2020. #orpol #orleg
Here are some quick stats: In 2017 between Weeks 40-48 there were 510 Hospitalizations
In 2018 between Weeks 40-48 there were 42 Hospitalizations
In 2019 between Weeks 40-48 there were 155 Hospitalizations
In 2020 between Weeks 40-48 there have been ZERO Hospitalizations #orpol
In 2017 between Weeks 40-48 there were 39 Outbreaks
In 2018 between Weeks 40-48 there were 4 Outbreaks
In 2019 between Weeks 40-48 there were 24 Outbreaks
In 2020 between Weeks 40-48 there have been ZERO Outbreaks #orpol #orleg
While I have you, go check out this spreadsheet and look at week over week the ER Visits and Positive Tests for each year. Look how some years are similar or even exact percentages for ER Visits but the tests are much lower and there are still no hospitalizations or outbreaks.
Even basic statistics should garner SOME hospitalizations. We could even go as far as to say that there are no outbreaks because we are locked down. But the positive test rate doesn't add up for the ER visit rate. #orpol #orleg Google doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRpYofVykc1NByWAJElq9x3rUi0qk9LVnJ-1H0-PJ8TLifJJLNqGhITl0g4Ct7nUw/pubhtml?gid=258657657&single=true&fbclid=IwAR0Fr68N1M-wjMaUkrXxtNw1SbH-xjNaJfGzlG8BmVr07dgQL_q14hMBQO4
