What a lot of libs & independents have trouble wrapping their heads around is, among that population, the feeling of victimhood & resentment is not a reaction to events or circumstances. It is *primary*, psychologically foundational, rooted down at the brainstem level.
The feeling comes first; the narratives that justify it & give it larger meaning come later. You're not going to argue or persuade the feeling away by refuting the narratives. Trump gets that. He gets that the narratives are incidental & shifting. "We are victims" is the *point*.
