thats why he starts these conflicts, so he can always be around him and now tommy is exiled, dream can visit him whenever he wants, no lmanberg getting bewteen them

like think about it, he helped tommy in pogtopia and in the war against his own best friend (sapnap), he went against lmanberg since that was wilbur pitting tommy AGAINST him, he helped wilbur blow up lmanberg aka the one thing keeping tommy away from him... it kinda makes sense

his first plan was to destroy lmanberg but after seeing how he literally cant do that, he realised that if he cant get rid of lmanberg, he has to take tommy away from it instead

also dream cares more about the discs than tubbo because it is literally the start of tommy and his relationshio in a sense

not only do the discs give him power over tommy, but they MATTER to tommy and it all began with the discs which is why he cares just as much as tommy :o

also afterthought: the reason why he hated lmanberg so much as well as being on board with wilburs plan to blow it all up is because he wanted WILBUR gone, since he is the only person tommy listens to completely

sbi isnt non existent if this is reality, since technically tommy was adopted into sbi far later than techno and wilbur, so while tommys adoptive family is sbi his blood related family is dream hence the conflict

also if you think about it, dream and tommy when they arent conflicting act like SUCH older/younger brothers, with dream always teasing/calling him annoying, tommy getting annoyed and insults him terribly but dream just laughs, dream being protective of him/helping him randomly

concept: dream keeps making tommy give up his armour and good weaponery not only because that way he stays powerless, but everytime they spend time together tommy is forced to rely on dream to help and save him, like a older brother would
