Went over last night’s UND film quickly today. Despite Jake Sanderson and Shane Pinto having hot starts to the season, Tyler Kleven has been my biggest surprise.
Though obviously it’s a small sample size, Kleven has been a rock on North Dakota’s back end. (1/4)

To start, here’s one of his best defensive plays against Denver.
Kleven identifies the opposing player shifting towards UND’s net upon an abrupt turnover and challenges them before the puck hits their stick.

- Very solid in the defensive zone, could focus on occasional mental lapses
- Has shown more offense than expected, needs to increase his decision making
