This is only temple in the world where the Devi is decorated in forms of Sri Saraswati, Sri Maha Lakshmi, Sri Bala Tripura Sundari, Sri Rajarajeswari, Sri Mahishasura mardini, Sri Durga devi, Sri Annapurneswari.

Devi became pleased and told to ask for a boon. Keela requested Devi to reside in his heart for ever. Devi granted boon and told Keela will remain here as a mountain and she will reside here in his heart. Thus Keela waited for Devi after becoming mountain.

Devi is glowing with the lighting of crores of suns, with golden colour. Indra and all the devas praised her chanting “KANAKA DURGA” and they worshipped her daily. Thus mountain was called “INDRAKEELADRI”.

Brahma Deva had a wish that Shiva also should prevail on this mountain. For this purpose, he performed 'Aswamedha Yaga’. Maheswara pleased with devotion rested here. Brama Deva worshipped Shiva with Jasmine flowers (Mallika) so Mahadeva attained the name ‘MALLIKESA' here.
Arjuna, penanced to Parameswara seeking ‘Pasupatastra’. Parameswara after testing Arjuna and pleased with the devotion offered him Pasupatastra here.
