THREAD OF THANKS // I have to just say, personally, me talking here, JD -- the outpouring of happiness from yall about the Jordan Lake Sessions connects me a stage-related vibe largely missing in my life since we locked down in March, and I am incredibly grateful.
like, for something like 24 hours (and maybe now?? I don't monitor this stuff but @muzzleofbees tells me) we were #1 on Bandcamp. like, no-qualifiers #1. wow. just wow,.
it is, for me and for my whole crew, an immense honor, and a joy, to make music that gives people pleasure. any kind of pleasure: relief, exultation, comfort, a connection to anger they don't normally give themselves permission to feel -- all the stuff music does
to have our people with whom, at this point in the year, we've normally spent several dozen nights in clubs, getting to that place that music takes a room -- to have those people saying "this set scratched that itch, slightly diminished the loss we're all feeling" --
I mean we miss you. To feel this connection now, in these times, is, for us, immense.
I continue to work daily on new good rocking tunes and intend to deliver as many more of them as I can in the times ahead, until we're all together in those clubs again
but I wanted to pause today to say it means so much to have made this connection with those two shows we had the privilege of playing for you.
ok that's all I got. just feeling really emotional about it. wild ride over the past day-plus. THANK YOU. /thread
