Focusing on Trump as though he’s the only person who’s going to matter in the next four years is going to distract us from a shrewder authoritarian who is learning from Trump’s blueprint and may not even be on the radar right now (in 2012 we never *imagined* Trump in 2016!) 2/
I predict (and maybe I’ve been immersed too much in @ruthbenghiat’s “Strongmen” but): someone w military experience, perhaps a lawyer (who will be smarter about what he can get away with), from south/heartland (“of the people”). Keep an 👀 out
