Many members of the University of Ottawa community may already be aware of the administration's unilateral dissolution of the President’s Advisory Committee for an Anti-Racist and Inclusive campus and the creation of a new Action Committee on Anti-Racism and Inclusion.
Please read and share a statement of concern issued by the Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) Professors and Librarians Caucus that stands in solidarity with students who have been leading anti-racist work on our campus.
This statement elaborates our misgivings and what we collectively believe is a better way forward. This statement is not a critique of any individuals who choose to be involved in the new committee but a criticism of the university administration and its inaction for too long.
